The Review Chap’s
July Review 2018
Here are some brief thoughts and stars for the shows seen in
July. Some shows have been reviewed more fully already, and some may appear in
the future.
★★★★ Prom Queen – Excellent workshop production by Paul Taylor-Mills
of a new musical at the Other Palace with standout performances from Luke Bayer
and students from Guildford School of Acting.
★★ It Happened in Key West – see review
★★★★ Locked Up – see review
★★★ Two for the Seesaw – Competent production with good
performances that suffered from a rather dated storyline.
★★★★★ End of the Pier – see review
★★★★ Consent – Extremely stylish production with great
performances from an excellent ensemble.
★★★★ Killer Joe – A trailer park-trash drama headed by the
excellent Orlando Bloom and supported by an equally good ensemble.
★★★★★ Euan – see review
★★★ Clingfilm – see review
★★★ Wolf – see review
★★★ Give my Regards to Broadway – This review was removed after
a grievance from the producer!
Looking forward to next month with The King and I, Knights
of the Rose, Little Shop of Horrors, The Lehman Trilogy, I Wish My Life Were Like A Musical, Silk Road, Around
the World in 80 Days and, no doubt, many more along the way!
